Hill Country/Texas Wine Country/Fredericksburg/Loft at Restoration Ranch
Loft at Restoration Ranch
Fredericksburg · Texas Wine Country
Knows the town, knows its history, and knows wine — which vineyards planted what, and which tasting rooms are worth a Saturday. Ask him about Fredericksburg and you will get the long answer. He also knows this house — the beds, what is in it. Ask him.

The Loft sits on Restoration Ranch, six miles from downtown Fredericksburg. Wineries, Enchanted Rock, Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park and the National Museum of the Pacific War are all an easy drive. Out the windows are oak trees, a stone-edged pond, and pastures with horses, ponies, longhorns and deer.
Good to know: The Loft is upstairs, so expect a flight of stairs. There is no full kitchen; the dining room has a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker, and the outdoor kitchen has a grill. The outdoor kitchen and ranch grounds are shared with guests in the cabins. The primary renter must be 18 or older.
The Loft is the upstairs of the owners' home, with its own private entrance and closed off from their living quarters. It is one big room under a vaulted knotty-pine ceiling, with hardwood floors, gabled windows and ceiling fans. Two queen beds and two twin beds are carved antique wood, and a little bistro table for two sits by a window. The private bathroom has a granite vanity and a stone walk-in shower with a built-in bench, and there is a large closet with shelves.
Downstairs, behind an old barn door, a private dining room seats six, with a mini fridge, a microwave and a coffee maker. Outside, a covered porch has wicker rockers and flower beds.
The ranch's outdoor kitchen is a stone pavilion with a fireplace, a gas grill, two dining tables, couches and a TV, shared with the cabin guests. Under the oaks there are swings, a table and chairs by the pond, and an old turquoise pickup that has become part of the scenery.
Early check-in may be available on request. Every stay includes the Texas Hill Country Travel App, a local guide for exploring the area.
