Marktplatz (Market Square)
Marktplatz has been the social hub of Fredericksburg since the town's founding by German immigrants in the mid-1800s. Today, this central park continues to honor its heritage by hosting major events such as Oktoberfest, the Fredericksburg Food and Wine Festival, and seasonal community markets. The grounds feature the iconic Vereins Kirche Museum, a replica of the town's first church and school, alongside a Peace Garden commemorating the treaty between German settlers and Native American tribes.
