This 425-foot pink granite batholith has drawn visitors for thousands of years. The park offers nearly 21 miles of hiking trails, including the iconic Summit Trail and a new backcountry area with ponds and wildlife. As an International Dark Sky Park, it provides exceptional stargazing opportunities. Visitors can also enjoy rock climbing, picnicking, birding, and geocaching across the rugged Texas Hill Country landscape.

Before you go
Open daily 6:30 a.m.-10 p.m.; vehicle gates close at 8 p.m. and backcountry access runs 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Advance passes are recommended to guarantee entry. Elevated trails can close during wet weather.

Do I need a reservation to visit Enchanted Rock?
Yes, the park regularly fills to capacity on weekends and holidays. Reserving a day pass online up to 30 days in advance is highly recommended to guarantee your entry.
Can I bring my dog to Enchanted Rock?
Pets are only allowed in designated day-use picnic areas, campgrounds, and on the Loop Trail. They are not permitted on the Summit Trail or any other trails, and must be kept on a leash no longer than six feet.
What happens if it rains?
The Summit Trail and elevated areas of the park may close during wet or inclement weather for safety reasons. It is best to check the park's trail status online before your visit.
