Pedernales Falls State Park offers a picturesque landscape where the river cascades over huge slabs of layered limestone. Yes, you can swim in designated areas, but access requires a strenuous hike with steep rock stairs. Swimming and wading are not allowed in the Pedernales Falls area for safety reasons. Flash flooding is common, so be alert to weather conditions.
