Johnson Settlement (National Park Service)
The Johnson Settlement preserves the 1860s cattle droving headquarters established by Lyndon B. Johnson's grandfather and great-uncle. Visitors can walk a one-mile trail to explore the restored log cabin, historic barns, a cooler house, and a working windmill. The site offers a glimpse into Texas frontier life and the early history of the Johnson family in the Hill Country. Longhorn cattle and a chuckwagon add to the authentic atmosphere of this historic settlement.
