LBJ Boyhood Home (National Park Service)

The LBJ Boyhood Home offers a glimpse into the early life of the 36th president, who lived here from age five until his high school graduation in 1924. Furnished to reflect the early to mid-1920s, the home depicts a rural Texas lifestyle from a century ago. Visitors can see the dining room where Lyndon B. Johnson learned to debate and engage in political discussions. The nearly two-acre property includes exterior porches designed to cool the home before the era of air conditioning.
