Medina County Courthouse Complex

Hondo’s courthouse square centers on an 1892 limestone courthouse and also includes the exterior of the former county jail and the Stephen F. Austin Memorial Oak. The courthouse’s later additions and removed clock tower show how the active government complex changed during the twentieth century.

Before you go

Use public streets, sidewalks, and courthouse-square grounds. The courthouse and old jail are active government offices rather than museums; interior entry may require business hours, security screening, and an official purpose.
