Calaboose African American History Museum
Located in a historically Black neighborhood across from Eddie Durham Park, the Calaboose African American History Museum preserves the stories of San Marcos and Hays County. The brick building, which originally served as a county jail, now holds generations of local history. Visitors can explore exhibits detailing the experiences of African Americans in the military, the history of the local Colored School, and the legacy of the San Marcos Airfield and Negro USO.
