Site of Camp Sabinal Historical Marker

A 1936 granite marker identifies Camp Sabinal, a Second U.S. Cavalry outpost established beside the San Antonio–El Paso road in 1856 and later used by Texas Rangers.

Before you go

Stop only where lawful and fully clear of the U.S. 90 travel lane. Do not block the ranch entrance; remain in the highway right-of-way and do not pass the gate or fence. The former camp site is not open.
