Medina Lake

The county’s current notice opens the park Saturdays and Sundays, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., weather permitting, for picnicking only. Admission is cash: $5 per Bandera County resident, $10 per nonresident, and free for children under six. Standing rules require leashes and prohibit overnight camping, glass, loud music, and weapons.

Before you go

Zebra mussels have invaded the reservoir. Boaters must clean, drain, and dry boats, trailers, and gear before traveling to another water body.

Good to know

Can visitors launch a boat?

No. The current county notice says lake access, including launching boats and associated parking, is closed because of low water.

Is the park open during the week?

No under the current notice. It is open Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., weather permitting, for picnicking only.

May visitors use nearby shorelines?

Stay within the county park. The rules warn that surrounding property is private and prohibit crossing the water to enter private land.
