Kerr Wildlife Management Area

Owned and operated by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the 6,459-acre Kerr Wildlife Management Area is located at the headwaters of the North Fork of the Guadalupe River. The area focuses on developing wildlife habitats, conducting research, and demonstrating proven practices in wildlife management. Visitors can learn about the Texas Hill Country ecosystem and observe various wildlife species, including white-tailed deer, wild turkey, and migratory birds.

Before you go

The property is generally available year-round but closes for Special Permit hunts. Monday-Friday entry from Kerr WMA Road is permitted 7 a.m.-6 p.m.; Schumacher Road and Spring Trap GCW trails have daily daylight access.
