Site of Zanzenberg Historical Marker

Located along State Highway 27 just east of Center Point, the Site of Zanzenberg Historical Marker commemorates the historic home of Dr. Charles De Ganahl. Built in 1856, the home was named after his ancestral residence in the Austrian Tyrol. Dr. Ganahl was a notable figure who signed the Texas Articles of Secession in 1861 and served as an Army Surgeon for the Confederate States of America.
