The Wedding Oak
The Wedding Oak is a Texas live oak on China Creek Road outside San Saba, not far from the San Saba River, and one of the Famous Trees of Texas. Settlers told of council meetings held beneath it, and legend ties it to courtship long before the town; on Christmas Eve 1911, the local paper reported, four couples married under its branches. Couples still marry there, most often in spring and summer.
